RECIN Home

The Registry for Effectively Communicating Immunization Needs (RECIN), formerly known as the Regional Early Childhood Immunization Registry, is an immunization registry that is accessible to immunization providers (public and private), schools and daycares throughout Wisconsin. RECIN allows providers to track immunizations across the lifespan of their patients.

RECIN provides an accurate, up-to-date record of all vaccinations a patient has received. This detailed record enables health care providers to determine when immunizations are due and take the steps necessary to protect both adults and children from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Access to this comprehensive immunization registry enables providers to:

  • protect their patients from over and under-immunization
  • be automatically warned against any contraindications or patient allergies
  • create comprehensive intervention campaigns

First developed in 1995 through the collaborative efforts of public and private immunization providers in central Wisconsin, RECIN has been cited as a model immunization registry by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and has received the first-ever Protect Award on behalf of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Immunization Program of the CDC.
